Open Plan Kitchen Renovation in Lymm, Cheshire
Full Kitchen & Dining Room Transformation
Project Details
After being referred by a previous client, Mr Rossiter booked a home survey through our online calendar, allowing him to choose a date and time that suited his schedule. From the outset, the process was simple and convenient, something he later told us immediately set us apart.
During the initial kitchen consultation, Mr Rossiter explained that he had already visited a well-known high-street kitchen supplier and received a preliminary kitchen design and layout. However, when it came to sourcing reliable builders for the additional renovation works required, he encountered several frustrations. Despite contacting multiple contractors for quotations, many failed to respond. In contrast, others provided unclear or poorly presented quotes, leaving him uncertain about the true scope and cost of the project.
Mr Rossiter also shared concerns about communication from the high-street kitchen company. After the initial designs were sent over and a deposit had been paid, updates became increasingly infrequent, leaving him feeling unsupported at a critical stage of his kitchen renovation journey.

Following the initial home kitchen design survey, our experienced kitchen designers began developing the first draft kitchen floor plan and 3D kitchen visualisations for Mr Rossiter’s home renovation project.
During the consultation, Mr Rossiter explained that he wanted to reconfigure the existing kitchen and dining room layout to create a more open, practical space. His goal was to achieve a modern kitchen renovation with a dedicated dining area, improving both the flow of the room and the way the space is used for everyday living and entertaining.
Using the measurements and ideas gathered during the survey, our team produced a bespoke kitchen design proposal, including detailed kitchen layout plans and realistic 3D kitchen renders. To help bring the concept to life, we also created a short kitchen design video walkthrough, allowing Mr Rossiter to visualise exactly how the new kitchen and dining space would look once the renovation was complete.
The proposal was extremely well received. Mr Rossiter loved the proposed kitchen layout transformation and was excited to see how the redesign would maximise both functionality and style. He quickly scheduled a kitchen design review meeting with our team so we could refine the plans and explore the finer details of the project.

Kitchen Renovation Installation Timeline – Lymm, Cheshire
Following the final design approval, our team scheduled the full kitchen renovation in Lymm, Cheshire, carefully planning each phase of the project to ensure the transformation ran smoothly and efficiently. This bespoke kitchen and dining room renovation in Lymm was completed over five weeks, with each stage building towards a modern, open-plan kitchen space designed for everyday living and entertaining.
Week 1 – Kitchen Removal & Structural Alterations
The project began with the full removal of the existing kitchen and adjoining living space, preparing the property for the new open-plan layout. Our team carefully stripped out the old cabinetry, appliances and flooring to expose the structural framework of the room.
During this stage, we also carried out the key structural changes required to achieve the new layout. This included removing an internal load-bearing wall and installing a structural steel beam (RSJ) to create a larger open-plan kitchen and dining area.
With the space opened up, the team removed the old flooring and completed the first fix plumbing and first fix electrical work, ensuring all services were correctly positioned for the new kitchen design.
Key work completed in Week 1:
Removal of the old kitchen and living space
Structural wall removal to open up the kitchen and dining area
Installation of a steel beam (RSJ)
Removal of the existing flooring
First fix plumbing installation
First fix electrical work
Week 2 – Structural Works & Subfloor Preparation
By week two, the structural alterations for the kitchen renovation in Lymm were fully completed. With the new open-plan layout established, our team focused on preparing the space for the finishing stages.
The walls were prepared and plasterboarded where necessary, and the subfloor was levelled and strengthened to ensure it was ready for the final flooring installation later in the project.

Completion of all structural alterations
Preparation of walls for plastering
Subfloor preparation for new flooring
Final checks on plumbing and electrical positioning
Week 3 – Plastering & Room Finishing
With the structure complete, week three focused on transforming the construction site into a space ready for the new kitchen installation.
Our plastering team completed a full skim of all walls and ceilings throughout the new kitchen, dining room and utility area, creating smooth surfaces ready for decorating and cabinetry installation.
This stage is essential in any high-quality kitchen renovation project, as it ensures perfect wall finishes and crisp edges around cabinetry, appliances and lighting features.

With the space fully prepared, week four marked the exciting stage where the new kitchen started to take shape.
Our installers fitted the kitchen cabinetry, carefully aligning units and preparing the layout exactly as planned in the design phase. By the end of the week, the kitchen was largely installed and ready for the quartz worktop templating process, where precise measurements are taken for the final stone surfaces.

With the kitchen fully assembled, our team then laid approximately 70sqm of luxury LVT flooring throughout the open-plan kitchen and dining space, creating a seamless finish across the entire area.
