Narrow Framed Shaker Kitchen Renovation in Chorlton
From Brochure to Beautiful Kitchen
Project Details
When Mr Kitching from Chorlton, Manchester downloaded our kitchen design brochure, he was searching for inspiration for his upcoming home renovation. After exploring our collections, he decided to book a free home design survey — and that’s where his dream kitchen began to take shape.
During the home survey, we discussed his ideas, layout options, product preferences, and the full range of services required. Following the visit, we presented our initial kitchen design and quotation via video consultation, giving Mr Kitching a clear vision of what his new space could look like.

Excited by the concept, he arranged a design review meeting at our Wilmslow design studio, where he could get hands-on with door samples, worktop options, and colour palettes. After exploring finishes and materials, Mr Kitching chose our stunning Neves Narrow Framed Shaker Range in Reed Green — a timeless, elegant choice that perfectly complements the natural light and modern feel of his Chorlton home.
Scope of Works
This wasn’t just a kitchen replacement — it was a comprehensive home improvement project. Our team managed and supplied everything, including:
Full Kitchen Design & Supply, including Amber Quartz worktops
New windows and patio doors, with a wider opening for a picture window
New engineered wood flooring throughout
New radiators
Removal of the existing wood-burning stove
Electrical first and second fix
Plumbing and gas works (first and second fix)
The Project Timeline – 5 Weeks from Start to Finish
Week 1 – Setting the Foundation
The first week focused on structural changes and preparing the space for transformation. Our builders removed the old windows and adjusted the brickwork to create a wider opening for a beautiful new picture window — a key feature that floods the kitchen with natural light. We also replaced an existing window and fitted brand-new patio doors, providing seamless access to the garden and creating a brighter, more open feel.
Week 2 – Out with the Old
With the structural work complete, we removed the old kitchen units, flooring, and the wood-burning stove to make way for a fresh start. Our team carried out all first-fix plumbing, gas, and electrical work, ensuring everything was ready for the installation phase. Careful preparation here ensures smooth progress later — and sets the tone for a high-quality finish.
Week 3 – Installation Begins
This was an exciting week! The new kitchen units arrived, and our fitting team got to work assembling and positioning the cabinetry. By the end of the week, the kitchen was ready for the quartz worktop templating — the crucial step before fitting those elegant Amber Quartz worktops. The combination of Reed Green shaker doors and quartz surfaces was already looking stunning.
Week 4 – Bringing the Design to Life
With the units fully fitted, we installed the Butler’s Pantry, adding a practical yet stylish storage solution that ties in perfectly with the shaker design. Once the Amber Quartz Worktops were installed, the kitchen began to truly shine. The engineered wood flooring was also completed this week, adding warmth and texture underfoot — a perfect complement to the timeless shaker cabinetry.
Week 5 – The Finishing Touches
In the final week, our team focused on all the finishing details that bring a kitchen to life. New handles were fitted, the second fix electrical work completed (including new ceiling spotlights for perfect task lighting), and two sleek radiators were installed. We also carried out second-fix plumbing, connecting the sink, tap, and appliances to complete the transformation.
The Result – A Modern Classic in the Heart of Chorlton
The finished kitchen blends modern functionality with classic design. The Neves Narrow Framed Shaker Range in Reed Green gives the space a calm, elegant feel, while the Amber Quartz worktops add a touch of luxury. The new picture window and patio doors flood the kitchen with light, creating a perfect place for cooking, entertaining, and spending time with family.
